Marcus Jones, born April 16, 1987, better known by his stage name Yung Jones, is a rap artist from Houston, Texas, raised in Lawton, Oklahoma. Jones was raised by a single mother who worked two jobs. He stayed with his grandmother most of the time, which often led him to the streets. In 1999, Jones moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he began immersing himself in music. At twelve years old, he discovered his passion for music by beating on tables and making beats with anything he could find.
Jones has experienced firsthand the ups and downs of life. Growing up, he was influenced by artists like T.I., Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, and Jadakiss. Now, personal life experiences and the evolution of music continue to shape his artistry. Jones has come a long way in the music business since he first started, constantly bringing something new to the table.
He has many accomplishments, including being paid to perform, receiving payment for verses, and honing his own artistry. Jones has opened for notable acts like Plies, Webbie, Slim Thug, DJ Quik, Nipsey Hussle, YG, Bun B, Paul Wall, Lil KeKe, and more. In 2011, he was awarded "Best New Artist"; in 2012, he won "Artist of the Year"; and in 2013 and 2014, he received the award for "Label of the Year." Additionally, he is running a clothing line called “TenHunid,” which fuels the drive of his career and presence.
As we move into 2026, Yung Jones continues to hold it down, preparing for another project rollout with a special distribution label. Now calling Oklahoma City home, he is constantly creating new music and trailblazing uncharted territory. Armed with extensive knowledge, he collaborates with like-minded artists in OKC and represents Ten Hunid. Starr Lyfe TSF is an Oklahoma City-based artist and community figure known for leading a group called "6GMafia" and producing rap music with a regional focus, but has Grown to be - a National & International Public Figure. He was born in San Diego and moved to Oklahoma City. He originally formed a "click" called 6G on the west side of 63rd Street, which evolved into "Mafia," adopting a black flag. Starr Lyfe has worked with one of Hottest Producers Locally, Nationally, and Internationally - Chris Cutta Classics and has been featured on tracks like "Oklahoma (Remix)", "Okc Thunder Anthem”, “Riich Tee”, and Life is So Good. Based on available music, the hip-hop artist Starr Lyfe has collaborated with several artists, particularly on tracks featuring a range of artists from the Southern United States and independent scenes. ​These artist include: Moe 3, Nitro of Power Moves, Trina, Ball Greezy, Yung Jones, Ty Dolla $ign, TwelveHighway, Yella, Poppa Hussein, C. Struggs, Fool Fareal, J. Marsh, Rubberband OG, King D'Black, Tune, Dead End Redd, Ace Boogie, Sleep Dawg, and P.T. One of his most impactful and political songs is called "I Can't Breath," which is story about police brutality.
